Crime Reduction Manager

Salary: £30,000 three year fixed-term contract plus vehicle

Rationale: The appointed person will have the responsibility of developing and managing the delivery of the CACT Crime Reduction programme throughout the London Boroughs of Bexley and Greenwich and the Kent districts of Dartford and Gravesham.

The successful applicant will:

  • Be responsible for the planning, implementation, delivery and monitoring of a programme to meet the needs of young people in conjunction with local partners
  • Ecourage the active participation of 'at risk' young people into the programme
  • Develop innovative sports based projects and programmes aimed at raising the achievement, confidence and skills of young people, particularly those at risk of becoming involved in drugs, anti-social behaviour, crime, extremism and violence
  • Ensure the sustainability of the project through effective partnership working, identification of funding and bid writing
  • Line manage the CACT Crime Reduction Officer and casual staff
  • Adhere to health and safety, child protection and other related guidance
  • Maintain the high standards CACT sets across all programmes and to ensure, to the best of their ability, a safe environment

    The successful applicant will be required to work an average minimum of 38 hours per week. The postholder will be line managed by the CACT Social Inclusion Manager.

    Person specification Essential

  • Full driving licence
  • Experience of working with children/young people
  • Experience of working with and supporting minority groups
  • Experience of managing staff
  • Experience of working within a 'partnership' environment
  • To have a willingness to work 'unsocial' hours
  • Knowledge and experience of the Youth Justice system
  • Experience of working with young people at risk, both perpetrators of crime and victims of crime
  • Be able to plan, manage, evaluate and monitor their own work and have a flexible approach
  • Have good interpersonal skills - be a confident/effective communicator
  • To be competent in ICT and to have reached a satisfactory standard in education and be willing to undertake further training/qualifications

    Desirable

  • Awareness of the ECM agenda and other Local/National agendas
  • To have a coaching qualification (football) - minimum of FA level 2 or equivalent
  • Experience of multi-agency work on the 'Prevent' agenda and in community cohesion
  • Knowledge and experience of fund raising and bid writing

    Bexley Crime Reduction Officer

    Salary: £25,000 three year fixed-term contract plus vehicle

    Rationale The appointed person will have the responsibility of developing and managing the delivery of the CACT Crime Reduction programme throughout the London Borough of Bexley.

    The successful applicant will:

  • Be responsible for the planning, implementation, delivery and monitoring of programmes to meet the needs of young people in conjunction with local partners
  • Encourage the active participation of 'at risk' young people into the programmes
  • Develop innovative sports or other activity based projects and programmes aimed at raising the achievement, confidence and skills of young people, particularly those at risk of becoming involved in drugs, anti-social behaviour, crime, extremism and violence
  • Refer vulnerable young people into areas of further advancement, be this academic or activity based, through partnership referral, and recognising achievement via accredited outcomes and awards etc
  • Deliver support through mentoring individuals on a one to one and ad hoc basis when and where it is required and to be able to use own initiative and formal guidance to ensure the safety of the individual who may be at risk
  • Adhere to health and safety, child protection and other related guidance
  • Maintain the high standards CACT sets across all programmes and to ensure, to the best of their ability, a safe environment and adherence to its equality and diversity policies
  • Provide feedback via monitoring forms on successes and shortfalls and to be able to substantiate these findings via evidence

    Youth Achievement Foundation Lead Tutor

    Location: Greenwich

    Purpose: To deliver and monitor accredited education programmes that are user-specific. To support people in achieving, self-discipline, confidence and sport-related qualifications in various settings. To undertake other duties in relation to the position Reporting to: Charlton Athletic Community Trust YAF Co-ordinator

    Responsible for: Leading a referred group of young people

    Liaising with: Other CACT coaches and management; external agencies where applicable

    Contract type: One year fixed term full contract

    Hours: The appointed person will work an average of 38 hours per week, 52 weeks per annum, be entitled to 20 days annual leave plus statutory holidays. Some of these hours will be 'unsocial'

    Salary: Up to £22,000 pa (plus use of company vehicle)

    Preparation:

    Part-time football coaches wanted

    The Charlton Athletic Community Trust is currently looking to recruit part-time football coaches to work on their ever-expanding football, education and social inclusion programme across Kent and South-East London.

    Part-time work is available in the following areas:

    The Charlton Athletic youth academy and girls' academy are currently looking for new families to take on boarders for the coming season.

    Interested parties would need to complete and satisfy the Criminal Records Bureau's Safeguarding Children procedures as well as CAFC's own stringent vetting processes.

    Preferable locations would be within the New Eltham, Eltham, Avery Hill, Mottingham, Sidcup and Lee areas. Payment would be for room, food, laundry and any other reasonable support that may be required.
