Sam banned for Rovers

Sam Sodje will miss Charlton's match against Bristol Rovers on Tuesday night (7.45pm) following his dismissal at Huish Park on Saturday.

Sam Sodje will miss Charlton's match against Bristol Rovers on Tuesday night

The Addicks centre-half was shown a straight red card after his sliding challenge on Yeovil Town striker Ryan Mason shortly before the half-hour mark in Somerset.

The referee showed no hesitation in producing the red card for denying a clear goalscoring opportunity, and Sopje will serve a one-match suspension in midweek.

It was the second time Sodje has been sent off in Charlton colours; the Greenwich-born defender also took an early bath following a two-footed challenge against Norwich City at Carrow Road on Boxing Day 2007.

On that occasion, the on-loan Nigeria international was banned for four matches, his three-game suspension for violent conduct being extended by a further match because he had been sent off for parent club Reading earlier in the campaign.

The absence of Sodje means Spaniard Miguel Llera, who was introduced by Phil Parkinson in place of David Mooney following Sodje's exit at Huish Park, is likely to come into the back four against the Pirates.

And Llera is one of four Charlton players currently just one caution away from a one-match ban, following yellow cards for Jose Semedo and Kelly Youga on Saturday.

The fourth player with four bookings this season is Izale McLeod, who is again eligible for selection against Rovers in midweek after serving the third match of his recent three-game ban against Yeovil.

One Charlton striker who will not feature in the match is Chris Dickson, however.

The forward is on loan with Rovers at the moment, but the terms of his loan deal mean he is unable to play against his parent club.

Dickson helped the Pirates to a 2-1 win against Gillingham on Saturday, playing a part in the opening goal for Chris Lines when his overhead kick inside the penalty area was parried out to his teammate by Gills goalkeeper Simon Royce.

Dickson was substituted after 67 minutes with the score level at 1-1, but Jeff Hughes netted the winning goal after 81 minutes with his third strike in three games.

The victory left Rovers in seventh place in the table, just outside the play-offs places.

Tickets for the clash with Rovers are currently on general sale, priced £17, £22 and £25 adults, £17 over 60s and U21s, and £5 U18s in all areas.

Places are available in person from the Valley commercial centre, by calling the ticket hotline on 0871 226 1905, and online, and will be available from the ground in advance of kick-off.

Tickets are no longer being mailed out to fans, but can be collected from the north-stand ticket office on the day of the game.

Fans can also book £7-per-head Valley Express return travel to the stadium from more than 70 pick-up points. Get more details about the pick-up points and times here.

  • Fans can secure a place at the final 12 Valley games of the season by purchasing a half-season ticket, with prices starting at £160 for adults (just £13.33 per game). U18s pay £40 and U11s £30, which is £3.33 or £2.50 per head. Get more details here.

Calls to 0871 226 1905 cost 10p per minute from a BT landline. Calls from other networks and mobiles may cost more
