Darren Ward is currently on loan from Wolverhampton Wanderers
Phil Parkinson swooped to secure the services of Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Darren Ward on Friday, January 30th.
Centre-half Ward joins the Addicks on loan until May 3rd following the news that Jonathan Fortune has been ruled out for the rest of the campaign.
Manager Parkinson said: "We needed some defensive options, so I'm delighted to get Darren, who will give us a great physical presence."
Ward, brother of Coventry City defender Elliot, has just returned from a loan spell at first club Watford, where he made nine appearances for the Hornets.
The 34-year-old central defender is no stranger to South London, having spent nearly four years at Millwall and two years at Crystal Palace, where he played alongside Addicks skipper Mark Hudson.
He joined Wolves in July 2007, making 34 appearances for the club, including two at the start of the current campaign, before moving to Watford on loan in September.
